Mourinho angry at FC Rostov’s pitch

Jose Mourinho has criticised the pitch where Manchester United will take on FC Rostov in the Europa League on Thursday. 

The Olimp-2 stadium, which has a capacity of just over 15,000, is the home of Russian club FC Rostov.

Manchester United win thrilling EFL Cup final

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an 87th minute winner as Manchester United overcame a spirited Southampton side at Wembley in an entertaining EFL Cup final. 

United took the lead through a powerful Ibrahimovic free-kick which flew past the diving Fraser Forster.

Leicester complain to FA over fan abuse

Leicester City have complained to the Football Association over “abuse and intimidation” suffered by their fans in the FA cup fixture against Millwall.

The champions say that they received various complaints from their fans and that they will not accept the safety of their players, supporters and staff being “compromised”.

No Saints for Etienne as UEFA open disciplinary proceedings

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against French club Saint Etienne due to the behaviour of their fans during the hammering against Manchester United in the Europa League yesterday. 

The supporters are accused of setting off smoke bombs and fireworks during the game, which could be seen as a cloud of smoke emerged from the away section at Old Trafford.

Wenger to stay in management, whether at Gunners or not

Arsene Wenger has said he will definitely be a manager next season, whether at Arsenal or “somewhere else”. 

The 67 year old Frenchman made this comment at the end of what has been possibly one of his most difficult spells as Arsenal’s manager.

The hammering in the Champions League by Bayern led to many Arsenal fans calling for Wenger to leave the club but he still has a two year contract offer on the table if he wants to remain at the Emirates.

Wenger said, “What is important is that the club makes the right decision for the future. I care about this club and its future and it is very important the club is in safe hands.”

Arsenal fans seem sick of seeing the same thing happen every season and think now is the time to move on. One fan commented about how Arsenal are “stuck in the past” and need a “youthful, forward-thinking manager in charge” of the club.
